Accessibility Statement

he Headquarter of the Common Library Network (VZG) is committed to making its websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with national laws and regulations implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the Niedersächsisches Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (NBGG) and the Niedersächsische Verordnung über barrierefreie Informationstechnik öffentlicher Stellen (NBITVO).

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://gokb.org

Conformity with Requirements

The website https://gokb.org and its functionality and presentation on common devices are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) Level AA and the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (08-2018).

Non-accessible content

  • The title of the news ticker is set as <h3>, which does not conform to the correct hierarchical structure of the page. This can make navigation more difficult for screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • The autocomplete attribute is not set for form fields, which restricts the use of autofill functions and supporting technologies.
  • Documents such as PDFs are not or only partially accessible.
  • Links that point to a PDF are not marked with a notation of the opening file format.
  • Error messages for forms are currently not formulated in a way that effectively supports error correction.
  • Individual words in a different language (e.g. German package names) are not marked with a language attribute (e.g. lang=”ger”). This can make it difficult for assistive technologies like screen readers to correctly pronounce these contents, which can impair understanding for users with visual impairments.
